Hi all,
After a decade on an average rewards card I've finally made restructuring my cards and points earning a priority. I've moved to the Virgin High Flyer card for general transactions (1 velocity/$) but am also aware of the long exclusions list, over time I'll figure out what daily transactions these are but I'd like another card for these transactions so my spend doesn't go to waste.
I was considering the fee free AMEX velocity escape which still earns 0.5 ppd but came across this:
It isn't listed under their current deals but was a link for an older expired deal, however it lists 17 Sep as the application expiry. 100k velocity for $3k spend over three months on AMEX velocity platinum, standard annual fee. I haven't seen it mentioned around here, error or hidden promo?
I'm not wanting to start high churning points chasing yet, but was thinking the platinum for general points earning (1.25 ppd) at supermarkets/etc and the high flyer for all other transactions. I'd cancel the AMEX before the annual fee then sit on the sidelines for 18 months and use the high flyer for all transactions during this time.
