As per the title, do they do this (outbound and/or inbound) at MEL, and if so, to whom? Would J pax get one?

I'm guessing they don't do it at SIN because it's so bloody efficient.

Thanks

I believed the inbound express lane at MEL is AWOL (maybe we should call it the Tomic lane)

Yes J pax get them inbound and outbound. For departures they are probably most important for the 11am departure, at other times not so busy (in fact last 3 times I've travelled on SQ or EK afternoon/evening departures to SIN, I think they've saved me anything from -2 to 2 minutes).

Thanks guys.

A follow up question (in case you can't tell I'm gracing SQ with my presence first time ever :)):

Do they have any form of priority security/boarding at SIN, given the gate based security and consequent large crowds milling around (at least that is what I have seen at T1)? No biggie if they don't but if there is a queue to be avoided, then I'm all for that.

MEL inwards express lane is still there (far right next to crew) but usually SmartGate is faster.

Yes SmartGate always faster - and with APEC card I have a mit full of Express OUT/IN cards free to a good home.

Boarding does have priority for business class passengers, but never noticed priority security screening. Not sure if you are the sort of person who wants to board as soon as boarding starts, or happy to board later in the process, but if the latter usually queues at screening are not a problem. One good thing about SQ at Changi is that the gate closes 10 mins prior to departure, and I have never seen a gate close early. This means that you can relax in the lounge until 20-30 mins from departure (depending on how far the gate is and how fast you walk), then make your way to the gate. At this stage in the boarding I've rarely seen security queues. The only exception is if you are departing from a multiple gate area (A1-A8, B1-B4 in T3) and there is another flight going afterwards, in which case a quiet approach to security, indicating your flight is the one leaving now, not the one in an hours time, and they'll usually let you queue-jump.
