Does one get VA credits, flying AirNZ metal with EY fight number?

Not sure what the deal is with the recent Divorce between AirNZ and Virgin.

Was looking at some flights on EY website that took me to SYD on EY metal and EY flight numbers and to AKL on an EY flight number, but on AirNZ metal. Booked on EY website.

1. If I add my Velocity number into the booking, will the SYD-AKL earn me any Velocity SC or miles?

2. If no go - if I get off the plane in SYD and forfeit the final leg of a AKL-Europe-AKL, RT ticket, in PRACTICE these days, airlines never care right?

Velocity points and status credits cannot be earned on codeshare flights (any flight with an EY flight number that is operated by an airline other than Etihad or Virgin Australia):
