Does near expired asia miles get used first?

Dear members, i have a bit over 10k asia miles will expire in March 2016. If I redeem anything, do these near expired miles get used first? Many thanks in advance.

or what can I do with 30k miles? the transfer fee to another member is so damn expansive.
