Does everyone have constant issues with their airline?

My issue at the end of the day wasn't the lateness, it was the lack of and incorrect information coming from staff at all moments, and when I was told the solution to the problem on arrival wasn't available to me because it is reserved for 'loyal clients' - the solution that would have sorted my problems. So yes, being higher status would have fixed it without having the plane landing on time/early.

I guess it's not easy to have the correct information at all times, since situations can change very rapidly. As long as a WP (or similarly statused pax) was given priority over other in terms of seats on the next available flight out, I guess that's acceptable.

Another vote for AA from a QF WP

I had a self-inflicted delay causing me to miss my flight and they immediately put me at the top of the standby list leapfrogging some 10 other pax.

Three min later I was issued a window exit row seat on a fully booked flight (initially they were about to give me a middle exit row seat but I then asked softly 'could you help an Emerald, please?).

On the AA ticket, the status 'EMERALD' is printed twice, one in bold / larger font that is unmissable.

Have to say that I have had nothing but great treatment with AA (except the last flight, but that was largely self inflicted). As a QF WP, they go above and beyond, and have even kicked a CK off a flight to get me out to LAX to connect to an AU bound flight.

Compared to VA and QF, AA are pros. Sure, i've had mis connects and the like, but by the time i've gone to the counter to sort it out, they've already sorted it out for me.

The few VA and QF issues i've had, i've had to tell them what to do to get me to my destination. That, is not how any frequent traveller should be handled IMHO.
