Does anyone remember the days of Ansett when...

From memory, it was multiple flight numbers on the same day, as back in the 90's there was no direct flight between DRW and SYD (that I can remember), it was always either via BNE, CNS, ADL, or ASP.

There was a direct DRW-SYD on AN in Sept '99, remember being on it as a last minute change.
Was meant to be going DRW-CNS-BNE, but as I was on a staff AD ticket DRW-CNS started filling, so ended up being re-routed on the morning to DRW-SYD-OOL.
OOL was the destination I was after anyways, did miss out on what would have been my one and only look at GOV on the DRW-CNS flight, even if it was just seeing it out the window for the 20min stop.

Didn't they also do mystery flights for $99

Yes they were $129 when I did them in. I did one every month, usually got from Syd adl, bne, ool, hba or mel. At the time I think a Syd- mel return ticket was around $300 in Y.
Being golden wing was awesome as they gave me the best available seat, so usually sat in first class or business on return trip, with Y service. Also would fill in Avis form onboard for pilot to radio Avis car booking. Great day out
