I saw it a while back that you could get a link to join Qantas FF for free but lost it. Does anyone have a link I can use?

Also, as I am now exploring my options into QFF, how far would 50,000 points get me in J or F? Just to get an idea of how much I would need to save up :)

Thank you!

To New Zealand, Noumea etc (one way, maybe return depending how you mix it up). I think also one way to one of the closer asian ports like Jakarta? (DPS is out as it's Jetstar). SIN is in the higher zone already at 60K each way for business class.

Not J or F, but I think a good deal is Lord Howe Island if you book far enough in advance. The airfare is expensive, but last time I looked, it was 40K points.

Do any other airlines require a fee to join there FF program?

Not to my knowledge and I find it quite absurd to have to pay to join a loyalty program to earn points to support their business. Shouldn't it be in their best interest to have people join so that they stay loyal and make the business more money?

Its like punishing people to be loyal...

Cathay's Marco Polo Club is about $100 USD to join IIRC. I know Asia Miles is free but you need MPC to earn and retain status.

True...but you do get benefits from the MPC though such as priority checkin and boarding. It's almost like paying $100 for OW Ruby benefits if you fly CX a lot.

I almost cried a few months ago when a colleague paid for his two children to join.
Why didn't he ask?
