Does a functional & remotely stylish carry on exist for women?

I wasn't too sure about posting this but since the recent luggage thread has had a number of replies I thought I would give it a go.

I seem to be forever searching for a carry on.. My main problem is that the bags I find to be functional are either black or red. Why do women have such a limited selection?! I don't want black or red, I work for myself and have no need to appear "business like" which is what I feel like most of these bags are aiming for.

I like some of the Mandarina Duck bags online but have yet to see them in person so I can't be sure. And I carry as little as possible with the exception of a netbook which takes some space.

Any advice on where to look? Thanks! :p

^ I was hoping for something a little more feminine but thank you. Tumi have some nice things I'm looking there now but I'm determined to stay away from black.

mrsdoc loves her Antler Aeon Air (full set - suit bag, carry on, large bag and medium bag!) and it's a medium grey with green highlights.

(I believe there may be a black version with orange.)

I would not describe the cases as particualrly masculine or feminine either way, I have the same set (and also love it!).

carry on as in a bag or small trolley case?
I have a hot pink carry on case.that can be caried as a bag with strap also.

Trolley bag (near max legal size for QF). She is usually toting a (large) handbag as well! Plus or minus a laptop bag.

More of a carry on / handbag / tote...

The Antler Aeon carry on looks fine and I have seen others like it but find they are quite large and hard to carry.

I guess I must just be very fussy!

clava luggage leather nuntucket flight bag
pink with cafe accents or blue with cafe accents

Thanks for all the suggestions lilypily!

Print is a bit much for me. I can't seem to find the eggplant tote.

I thought that the Nantucket one looked okay but when you see it next to the model its huge and I am after something a bit more petite.

Thanks again for your suggestions though :p

Abbi New York Designer Laptop Bags & Cases - The "Abbi" Collection
Have some great Laptop Bags for Women. I'm not real fussed on the latest collection, but I have one of her earlier laptop bags and it is fantastic.

Also search for "Abbi NewYork" on ebay and you'll find some of the older styles coming from Hong Kong.

These are just Laptop Bags, they fit a few other essential things, but not too much.

If you do find a good carry on -- please let us know -- I've been looking for years with no luck.

^ That seems to be the case with a lot of womens bags! The laptop ones are nice but I want everything in one.

And another gripe I have is it seems as though the designs (women's bags) are either plain boring black or crazy hot pink or something tacky.

Maybe I will stumble across it one day :p

My dream bag is a Louis Vuitton Keepall 45 in Damier Azure.
Classic and beautiful. Will get it one day if I win Lotto.
In the meantime I will keep using my boring black samsonite roller.

I was on my annual search for a functional & stylish carry on, when I remembered this discussion. Has anyone found any good bags in the last year?

Maybe one of us should go into business making this as I too am forever looking for the right carryon! Something feminine (but not hot pink!) something stylish, something not too big, or too small, will take a small laptop and other electronic accessories as well as the must haves like some small toiletries, hairbrush, wallet etc for long haul carryon. Not too heavy either and personally I like wheels but can manage without (must have sleeve at back for sliding on top of roller case).

cheers

Timmi

I went through a phase of luggage purchasing... all Samsonite Black Label from their designer collaborations.

I have a "male" overnight boarding bag, a beauty bag and the ribcage hardside which is technically acceptable as a rollaboard

The overnight/boarding bag comes with a removeable padded laptop holder - I have it in chocolate brown but couldn't find a pic.

I also have two pieces from the Viktor and Rolf collection - a carryon bag that holds laptop, wallet and books, and a suitcase.

All via ebay or US stores...
