Do you travel with young kids in Business Class?

Enjoy the experience, as mentioned if you get the Q suites open them up two can squeeze in one seat and enjoy a game of cards. We did this in November last year though the kids were 15,17 and 18

Don't overthink it. Just enjoy it. Yes kids will be spoiled but remind them this is a special once off treat.

Yeah they'll be "spoiled" WRT air-travel expectations, but they'll snap back to reality when they start needing to pay for that themselves ... but that's not going to turn them into Veruca Salt(*). :)

(*) The character from Willy Wonka, not the band, I went many years having heard of the band without realising that was the name of the character I very vaguely recalled from the Gene Wilder movie.

I have treated my son to a number of J trips, ironically he still votes SQ Y on the A380 SIN-HKG as his most enjoyable, clearly not spoilt! Although I think the breakfast had a large sway on the voting.

Adult at the time but we treated son to a trip to New York in Y, jump forward a few years and he had business class , Sydney back to London (he had flown over in Y to surprise me for a birthday ) then first class Sydney to London a few times . Now he is an elderly lol person in his mid forties who travels in Y with his very young children. He misses his J and First class lol. However his wife is adamant they don't need business class lol

Yes, we do. NoName Jnr is now 12 and has done probably 15-20 medium/long hauls in J (and one in F) since he was 18 months old. He’s always been well behaved on board so has never been an issue for anyone in the cabin. He has come to expect it though but that was bound to happen.

I think the ‘expectation’ should be to travel as a family, together. Not necessarily the cabin 😂

Agree and disagree. While we prefer to all go together, we value the comfort of J so happy to travel separately (as we have done in my previous trip report) if we have to. Of course, finding award seats is becoming more difficult so we have all ended up in Y as well recently. It was perfectly fine for a day flight, albeit still met with grumbles.

@NoName answer reminded me of a young child going from London to Dubai in first with mum and dad. She was perhaps four and the most well behaved child. She happily ate her treats , watched tv and slept briefly. Her parents were far more stressed about her than the child was lol.
I spoke briefly to dad and he said they were trying to see how she went in a short (long distance ) before trying the trip to Australia or other lengthy ones
I will point out child did ignore mum and dad constantly popping up checking her (in her own seat ) lol . It actually was very cute

But i think in your case a parent was with the children?

That’s different to parents leaving the kids in economy while they fly upfront.

I took my twin infants in SQ F and it was great. Makes the trip easier and you don't have to climb over anyone in Y.

Mstr Scarlett has travelled J on QF, SQ, UL, VA, LH, QR, TK, PR, GA, BA, AA and EY totalling over 100 of his just over 350 flights. If you can, why wouldn’t you. 😊 Spoiled, yes. His first question after getting through security is “where’s the lounge?”.

Mind you, once he gets a little older it’ll be back in whY!
Haha. Same with MasterC - where's the lounge?!

My view is that if you can afford it, then why not. Being in business class certainly makes the journey more pleasant, especially long haul.

A downside I just thought of … the only people not in constant pain in whY are those under about 4’ tall, so it’s kind-of a waste to just bin those days of pain-free whY travel!!

Have a trip coming up in April to Singapore with my 8yr old. Any suggestions on whether I should do business there or back?

I would do the way back.

Flight up during the day? Plenty to keep entertained with IFE and food.

On the way back… far less stressful. Don’t have to worry about anything like queues at the airport, or luggage allowance. Get on board, sleep. No stroppy kid on arrival!

And something to look forward to rather than endured.
