Hi All
Booking our first big family holiday, family of 5, kids are 10, 8 and 5.
Heading to Egypt and maybe middle east / south east asia on way home.
Booked 5 x J tickets on Qatar. We've worked damn hard to get to this point and want to reward ourselves. While we could push the kids back to economy, it will no doubt take away from the eperience - can see the 5 year old up in J every 20-30 minutes struggling with tech, food, sleep, toilet etc.
But still, struggling with the idea that our three kids, so young in age, will fly in J there and back. My wife and I came from humble upbringings, a holiday to Victorian coast was a massive treat, an international flight was a dream and J was not even on the list of remote possibilities. We work to give our kids nice experiences, education, skills etc. this is obviously an enormous treat!
But part of me questions if its wise or if we're spoling them rotten. We live once, get it, they're this age once, trips like this will only get harder to coordinate, the memory of them sitting on their big seats will be a pleasant one. The 10 and 8 year old may remember it forever and be motivated by it to also work hard to experience the same things, who knows!
Keen to hear from others on how they think about such things and their experiences.
Our kids are well behaved, they wont be a nuisance to others in J if seated there, they will definitely be a nuisance if seated in economy!
