Here's something I haven't come across yet during my time as a Hilton HHonors member - when booking a hotel for day use aka not an overnight rate, does that count as a 'stay' for elite qualification.
Background: Getting in at 9am from JFK and not flying out on QF93 til 1130pm or whenever it is. Was planning on dumping my bags at the LAX Hilton and heading into town for the day. I'll book an overnight rate if I have too to get the stay, but the Day Rate use is only $85. Though I could snooze if I needed too/shower etc and see some sights before flying out.
Any one have any first hand experience?
