Virgin Australia Announcement Today

I'm aware Virgin are releasing their profit results to the ASX today, but I've also heard they are planning some sort of announcement today?

Anybody heard any details?

IFE to use wifi and Galaxy Tabs

Re: Virgin Australia Announcement Today

- Samsung Galaxy tablets in J class
- More info on wireless IFE for 737
- New info in regards to J class on the embraer
- New premium valet & checkin at MEL & BNE
- Concierge Service at OOL, CBR & SYD Int

Embraer J class looks to be a 1x2 config.(1 on left, 2 on right)

So plenty of chances to gripe about what a despicable hoax of a LCC Virgin are until then!
And I have no doubt there are plenty of people who will do just that :!:.
Cheers

Unless of course they are banking on Virgin Atlantic being successful in acquiring BMI?

The Samsung Galaxy Tab on American Airlines, pictured sitting on a black cover which can be folded in various ways to act as a support stand, to enable different viewing angles. (Note on AA's 763s a power cable is provided, which plugs into a "car cigarette lighter" style adaptor: in this pic, that plug is located in the top left corner of the seat in front.) AA also offers Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones for use with the product.

Firstly, code shares don't earn Velocity points (there's an EY source for that on AusBT).

Secondly, there's still a lot of intra-European routes that I'd rather fly than catch a train for.

How old are the 777's? Are they looking shabby and tired or are they looking at changing the "look"?

are you saying that VA codeshares on EY metal don't earn points? Anyway, just take the EY flight number in that case.

I thought all EY flights earned Points & Status Credits?

I think he means flights where EY code shares with a third carrier eg Air Berlin. Not flights where VA code shares with EY or flights on EY metal.

They absolutely do - I personally earned velocity points and status credits for flights on EY metal late last year (three flights had a VA flight number - i.e. codeshare - and 1 was an EY flight number).

chrisjrn, it'd be great if you could clarify your statement - do you mean EY codeshares on other (i.e. not VA or their partner) carriers?

It never was going to be anything else. This is the only J class configuration available on Embraer E Jets. Don't know why there was some sort of "hype" or "mystery" surrounding this:confused:

A bit OT, but - which ones (genuinely interested!)? worth it if you're going completely across the continent, of course...
