That may be the case this year, but next year if you do not make your qualifying flights, free Status Credits will no use to you! make hay while the sunshine methinks!

I have been collecting QF points from CC, but flying with DJ (VA) and now decided it's time to put my efforts into climbing the Velocity status ladder, particularly now as my current CC is about to expire. I didn't receive the offer, but will try to score a few SC's along with the 30,000 points if possible.

I phoned them yesterday. You are correct. No love with the SC's.

This is an error - I have this card and it is supposed to be 1.25:1.

Hi folks,

So I (as part of rolling most of my flying from QF to DJ) took up the 150SC/30,000 points offer, and just got my first statement - looking at my account, the SCs appear to have credited correctly, but only 10,000 bonus points, not 30,000. Does anyone know if they're doing something like 10,000 pts/month for 3 months, or should I be getting in contact with amex/velocity?

^^ Should be all at once - I have a 20K bonus Gold AMEX card and everything was credited at the start!

So the reply came back pleasingly quickly, but basically just said 'they have xyz days to post, don't bother talking to us before date (xyz days after account startup)'... Will see how we go!

So called today, got an apology and was told that there was an internal bulletin June 8 that for DJ SG an incorrect code was entered meaning only 10k pts were awarded and that this would be rectified in the two weeks following this ie end of this coming week. Certainly as a DJ SG I only got the 10k rather than 30k and I'm looking forward to the rest, but the SC came through just fine (main reason why I coughed up the $349 really).

Anyone know off the top of their head if the complimentary lounge passes that come with this card are transferable ie can they only be used by myself (useless for DJ SG and WP), used on extra guests (so if I want to guest in two guests as a SG at once) or completely transferable (if I wanted to give them to friends travelling independently of me, like you can do with the QF ones you get when you get status etc)?

I have no idea about transferring Lounge passes, unfortunately. Maybe via the family pooling mechanism?

Further update on both counts:
- Lounge passes can be used in addition to current SG/WP allocations. Member/cardholder has to be there but are ATA - "you can bring your friends whenever you like and come and party" the very friendly DJ lounge dragon said with a wink and a smile...
- Got a call from Amex CSR tonight - very apologetically explained apparently there has been a further delay and the full points will not be credited until July 8 but (completely unprompted) her manager had authorised a further 5k points to be credited today as goodwill. Was impressed as that's far better service than I've ever got from the Platinum Charge Card side!

Yeah, my query turned into 'wait until July 8' too - although I have to say the rep who responded to me needs to work on their phrasing! No 5K bonus points for me so far...
