Generally the person creating the mess always looks better than the one covered in it, while I think Dixon did do a reasonable job, it was on his watch that the JQ cancer was created and the current fleet predicament put in place. While the A380/787 delays are also a factor, its clear now that the fleet choices could have been better, especially in the era of post 911 cheap aircraft, of course hindsight is 2020 vision. I think the passing over JB was probably the biggest mistake made!

I did hear that remark and had a giggle. He did however state his high praise and frequent flying for QF both their people and the hard product.
