The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

So just for clarity, there is no incremental miles benefit from this, it's purely if you need to move miles b/w accounts that this might be something to take interest in.

Am I correct in that interpretation?

So if I send 70k to another account, they get 100k? Is that how it works?

This is why I wanted to clarify off the bat. You cannot gain any miles from this offer. Not one.

So one would only consider this if they NEEDED to move miles between accounts.

Just a data point, for the uninitiated - it costs money to do the equivalent of a "family transfer" in most USA FF programs, including AA's & US's.

In USA parlance it is not called "family transfer", it is referred to as "share miles", and - miles can be given from your account to anyone else who has an account (be they family or not), but all for a fee.

So this discount is merely a percentage off the amount which they will charge you, to transfer miles from your account to a different account.
