I in the past week, I caught 2 x long haul flights with a China Eastern airline, which generally doenst have the best reputation

both flights, on different legs, once the plane landed we had to wait 20-45mins each time to be able to disembark, people getting pretty restless

Not a complaint, but do certain airlines, this doesnt/does happen to based on reputation?

ie do better airlines do it better/get preferencial treatment/more organised?

It depends more on the airport then it does on the airline.

Some years ago, I was on QF25 arriving into HND. Due to some favorable winds and routing, we arrived an hour ahead of schedule. The ground crew was not expecting us that early, so it took 20-30 mins to round up some staff to even attach the airbridge. Long enough for the J cabin crew to run another drink service.

On QF15 into LAX, Swissport had left their cars parked in the aircraft parking bay, so was unable to enter the bay to the terminal. We had to explore the LAX taxiways for 30 mins waiting for Swissport to move their cars.

Was your plane sprayed at Melbourne? Mine was at SYD hence it took a while before being let off.

PVG can also get a little bit busy at times and could be a lack of equipment. I would say that for the most part my experience on MU 4 times back to back in a week between short and long haul hey were within expectations time wise outside of the spray on arrival at SYD.

Funnily enough those were the two airports that came to mind when you mentioned it. I’ve been stuck on the plane at PVG after arriving on MU domestically a few times - from 10-30 mins. And also been stuck once on MH and once on SQ waiting for a gate at MEL.

Colour me unsurprised.

Had the same thing in BNE last week arriving on Air Canada. We had to wait on board for 15 minutes while the cargo hold got sprayed.
