Went to a second hand bookshop near us today, they now have a beautiful 4 year old brown Burmese boy wandering around that loves to be cuddled, I see more trips there in the future. Think it's getting closer to being "owned" again!

He certainly is, would loved to have walked out with him under my arm. Plus they are extending, very good range of books.

P.S., how's the job?
He is certainly gorgeous. I walked past a few weeks ago to see if the new cafe area was finished/open (it wasn't :() and he was curled up in the sun in a bed in the climbing pole. I can see how you would've had itchy palms when seeing him but bet you would have no hope of spiriting him away.:)
Work is going well. Two weeks down (but who's counting).. Nothing too taxing or hard so far. Mostly doing stuff in Excel at the moment.

Fancy a cat doing mischief in their house?

A family cat's early morning antics in an empty kitchen have been blamed for a house fire in Canberra this morning.
...
When firefighters arrived at the home in Richardson in Canberra's south they extinguished the small blaze and found the cause — Belle the black cat.
"It turned out that the cat had knocked the roll of cling wrap onto the stove and stepped on the ceramic cooktop and it had turned it on," Ms Rhodes said.

Spent the weekend with my parents in NZ and these are their cats - both over 12 years and frequent flyers! Used to fly in a 5 seater plane to and from the island my parents lived on to get to the cattery. Both were feral cats originally.

Love this one as well, your parents must be very patient and very loving to give a home to some feral cats. :)

They think one (the one at the back) actually came off a boat as he doesn’t have the colouring or build of the feral cats that were on the island (he was once sleek lol). He then brought home Tid (front one) one night when he was a kitten and Tid stayed. Tid has some health issues from being inbred essentially.

Since moving back to the edge of town and off the island, Tid has had 2 run ins with cars and Cas has broken his leg twice getting it caught in the fence!

When on the island, Mum fed another couple of feral cats every night and whenever kittens showed up they could rounded up and taken to the mainland and rehomed through the local Vet and cattery.
