Just had an email from QANTAS:

"For the month of May, every available seat on all Qantas and Jetstar flights between Australia and New Zealand can be booked as a Classic Flight Reward seat.*"

* says: "All seats on Qantas ... operated flights during the month of May ... between ..., Melbourne and Auckland, ... as at 16 March, are available to Qantas Frequent Flyers to book using points as a Classic Flight Reward seat unless sold out.

Yet a quick search shows this isn't the case. QF151 MEL->AKL on Mon 16th May for example shows availability for Business Flex, but Business Classic Reward isn't available.

False/misleading advertising?

Edit: Seems to show as available only under certain circumstances. Forcing it to "use points" only search plus removing Business Rewards checkbox seems to cause it to show as available.

Had a look for MEL-CHC for random May dates - economy classic award
Via SYD 18,000 + $215 QF/QF
Via AKL 14.400 + $201 QF/JQ
Before CV19 used to buy for cash MEL-CHC non stop ~ AU$250avg (2019). Real taxes ~AU$110
CHC-MEL in 2019 had lower avg ~AU$200 on a range of airlines. Real taxes ~NZ$55
NZ Govt has increased airline travel taxes since then.
TT fares now are *very* high: far less flights than before CV19.
