Been a Senator at Lufthansa for many years. But decided to switch to Qantas for the last few years for 2 reasons
1. Impossible to get a retro active credit done. Sent boarding passes, called the "paid" german call centre, emailed the boarding passes, faxed them....I always get a "we received" email and even a letter that said they apologise for the delay and that the 6 month time limit will be waived. But never received any credits. Calling the local help desk just ends up with "we can't do anything..."
2. Not attractive at all to live in Australia to hold a Miles and More status. Never able to use points for upgrade on Singapore airlines and request stays match at Singapore air...
So finally went to One World and despite the limitation of not being able to exchange Qantas points for upgrades to any other airline. Will happily stay here. Bye bye Star Alliance...I spent more than 70K on flights last year and only spent 10K off those with Star alliance.
