Might be a small issue but I'll mention it anyway, found out yesterday that the MEL dom J lounge has officially removed Baileys from the bar menu!

This was one of the small differences that I liked between the J lounge and the QP but sadly, it is gone. I remember speaking to the bartender a couple of months ago and he said that for some reason it wasn't ordered at that time (temporary shortage?) ... on that day he did get me a glass from the CL.

I haven't paid attention to the different types of spirits they may have added in lieu of this change but this is not heading in the right direction for QF :(

Same chicken and olive stew and roast veggies for the hot food option, I left before Island dining unfortunately...

At least you get a dom J lounge to get 'enhanced'. QF has deemed PER unworthy.

Well your two storey QF pub is pretty good! Plus I thought a J lounge was happening as a part of all the terminal building etc.

I'm not happy to hear this in the slightest!

First, Bacardi was swapped out for Havana Club (a cheaper product usually substituted when negotiating bulk discounts from a certain supplier), which has a much more bitter taste than Bacardi, and now Baileys is gone...

I know that their spirit choices still beat the competition, but they have now removed my two favourite drinks... very displeased.

As an SG, my access to (domestic) J lounges occurs only when actually flying in J, and I liked to treat myself to a glass of Baileys as 'dessert'. I guess that won't be happening now...

Yep. Baileys has been gone from the Domestic Biz Lounge in Brisbane for some months now, however when I flew QF8 from the International Biz Lounge about 4 weeks ago it was still there. Last week in the QF Singapore Lounge was politely told by the bartender that they don't do 'double pours' of Baileys either. After a handful of visits in a relatively short period this was quickly rectified!

Indeed, the removal of Baileys is quite bizzare given that it is a relatively cheap product compared to other whiskeys and rums which they continue to stock. Maybe they could introduce the poor mans Baileys - Father O'Leary's :)

They still have miniatures on board in domestic J, don't they? If so, you may not be missing out totally, just having to waiting until you are airborne.

I still want the Bundy back... They must've replaced both Barcardi and Bundy with Havana.

The only times I've been in the DOM J lounge (MEL), it appeared pretty much the same as the standard QP to me (apart from angrier dragons), but I must be missing something.

Good point – they did still have them on a SYD-PER that I did about two months ago in J, so here's hoping!

I did not know that, I shall ask next time instead of for some bubbly :p

My solution to this problem is to order two singles and then pour them into one glass. The bar tender usually smiles.

I am trying this trick next time

I've been told by QF bartenders before that "I can't serve you a double shot, but I can serve you one shot in each glass" with a cheeky smile...

It's a weak drink - a 'double shot' really equates to roughly one standard drink, but that's been discussed elsewhere. :)

I see that Red Roo is alive and posting, can you comment on why this is the case? Feedback from pax or otherwise?

It's back! Different beers too, I had a James Squire 150 Lashes on Friday.
Great spelling

Do you like water colors?

This ones baileys.

This ones ermmmm, baileys.

This ones as close as you can get to baileys without getting wet.

I don't think Baileys ever disappeared - I'm consistently ordering it with a latte when in the Dom J lounges and never had an issue. I've always just asked and they have had it there.
