Husband has just treated himself *grumble grumble * to a first class to LHR early next year.
Now as a mean wife I have said for sept trip he can have two economy seats :) to LHR
Do many other people travel in a variety of classes when travelling ?
We have travelled economy, premium , business and first
Depends on sales, funds (go back to work husband ) length of trip etc

how much is two economy seats? About $2000? For an extra $600 or so he might have economy to SIN combined with business class ex SIN to Europe. Or for $3500 fly all the way in business class on Hainan (but to Brussels for that price). Those combos are based on any available specials.

I travel in different classes. There is no such thing as a 'principle' to have to fly premium. But if I can get premium for the same price as economy, the former will win out.

The first we just booked was only 1500 more than business.. worked for me
It is the cheapest first I have seen to London .
I was actually (shock horror ) seeing who had the cheapest flights on other one world carrier (baby steps moving away from Qantas) and found the Qantas one

Oh that is handy to know. His final destination is Denmark in sept 2020

Keep an eye out for specials. There are regular specials leaving from Asia to Europe, even on Qatar, in the region of $2000 or so. You'd need a cheapie on Scoot or Jetstar to SIN (or other asian port). Separate tickets so own risk, but SIN isn't a bad place to wait a few hours.

The Hainan deals are year-round, but some dates aren't always available. BNE-BRU is $3500, full flat the whole way.

Last Christmas we put the kids in Why, with us in F for a return SYD-LHR-SYD .... didn't hurt a bit :p

Have plenty of points / miles / status / $$$ to not go lower than J.

My son is unimpressed that he and his family aren't accompanying which was the original idea.
However they have decided to buy a house and therefore funds will be a tad tight.
Soooo husband and I are going to celebrate a "zero" birthday of mine a tad early
