Hi all,

I have just looked at redeeming a QF domestic fare on my AA account (Plat status) and the same redemption on my partner's account (no status). For me (Platinum) it is coming up at 10,000 points plus $12.50US, and for him (no status), 10,000 points plus $87.50.

Has anyone else come across this anomaly? I can't think of anything else other than the status that is different! Shame - I wanted to use the points from his account but at $75 US more no thanks.

Cheers.

Just for interest's sake, QF is 12,000 points with $36.85.

And the destinations were? How can you determine points required and money to be paid with out knowing the details of the trip? OP doesnt state from to

$75 fee for ticketing a trip within 21 days? This fee seems to be waived for those with status

It is BNE - MEL on QF623. But for the purposes of this, it is exactly the same flight number, day and time yet one account shows surcharge of $12.50 and one 87.50.

And the mileage cost difference (AA vs QF) gets much more interesting once you leave the eastern set of airports.

Happy wandering

Fred
