I flew to MKY recently and was looking for transport from the airport to my hotel. Looking at the Didi app, it told me that I could get a ride for less than $10 (it wasn't very far), so I gave it a go. First of all, I was told that the nearest pick up point was about 1 Km away (!), but I decided to play dumb and go ahead and see what came up (no way was I going to walk to that pick up point).
Well, no driver was found to pick me up, even after multipe tries, so I came to the conclusion that Didi in Mackay was more of a figment than reality. Good marketing but no substance.
In the end I got the public bus from directly outside the terminal at a cost of 50 cents.
