Did Qantas just cancel all MEL-SYD morning flights in Aug?

here's what I would do.

call QF due to them cancelling flights request a Travel Pass with DSC (pre other threads). they are obliged to do this on a fare they can refund per their cancel rules (and QF would rather issue a Travel Pass than give a refund - and DSC is one of the current offers). Thus you can then re-book for whatever flight and get DSC (valid till 12/22).

However if you have chosen to cancel to a credit voucher - your DSC should stay with the voucher because the PNR stays the same.

So either way you would be covered -unless of course you just cancel and refund the booking.

Ah, that's fantastic advice - thank you! Will using the 'Cancel/Voucher' button under the 'Manage Bookings' menu mean l would keep the same PNR when l use that voucher on another booking?

yes, but honestly I would (sorry to suggest this) call QF to get a travel pass issued. Far more flexible to use than the travel credit (which would have limitations) and I think the better overall option for you. I say sorry because of long call wait times alas.

You can do the cancel / voucher option and yes you will retain the PNR, but again it comes with restrictions often discussed on the forum, but will be available within minutes while the travel pass option does take some time to be processed by QF (after you get it organised on the phone).

I have a return flight MEL-SYD-MEL in 2nd week of Sept, I got 3 changes in one day, there are only 2x QF flights the whole day now on the day.

I wonder how the schedule looks for flights in and out of BNE OOL MCY
Last week, prior to the latest lockdown in SE Queensland both Qantas and Virgin had cancelled most of the CBR-BNE flights. Virgin was down to 1 a day, each way. Qantas had cancelled the morning flights, with the earliest leaving at noon. I guess that is the result of having Sydney effectively taken out of action.

I haven't seen any updates yet from Qantas, but I don't think I'll be traveling to Brisbane on Wed as planned.
