Did I get a free flight? Probably not

I booked a flight, from BNE to Miami. My credit card had a hold put on it, and I had to sort out my ESTA. I got that sorted maybe 7 days later. Entered details (Departing late April), and once I added my passport details - the system sent me an eTicket. Great!

Checked my credit card, and amazing: The hold has disappeared, and I have a zero outstanding balance. They haven't charged me!

Is this maybe normal? Or am I about to get my flights canceled? Or will the charge reflect closer to the time? Strange the hold dissapeared.

The hold will usually drop off after 3 days, but can sometimes be longer depending on the card issuer. They don't need to wait for the actual charge to come on before releasing the hold.

I suspect Qantas will get around to billing you. Just two weeks ago I had Qantas bill me the day after my flight!
 
I finally got billed. And received my eTicket.

However. I had to make a change. This happened maybe 2 weeks back. The flight was updated. And a charged of $240 extra was told to me. However - 2 weeks later and no charge for the change on my card. Also, flight on website is updated but “processing”.

And in the mobile app - the trip has disappeared. On the website it’s there and confirmed (but processing).

Also I don’t have an updated eTicket. That only seems to issue once it’s paid. I have 18 days until departure. Should I be freaking out yet?
 
lady in front of me for tonight’s QF93 business checkin didn’t have her money taken correctly. She had to stand aside while they tried to sort. I was waiting for QF staff to roll out a chair and call centre phone number, but it seemed like local staff would call for her.
