Whilst making some recent reward bookings with HH I noted this:
Rate Details DIA STANDARD RM RWD
newthread.php

This is a benefit for Diamond members to bypass length of stay restrictions to reserve a room using HHonors points for a standard room.

Is it new? It seems to suggest the 70000/nite point booking I did for a Cat 8 hotel might have been cheaper for me as diamond than it is for others? I thought since the big HH devaluation, the only reward benefit was 5th night free. FTR, my redemption was for 2 nights but the same text displayed for even 1 night redemptions.

Nope, just shows when logged in, always been that way. No cheaper for you, unfortunately. It is different in that you may be able to get a reward room even if the hotel is full.

Perhaps it overrides minimum night stay requirements, or perhaps it's just BS? Anyway, I hadn't noticed it before.
