Good morning,

I'm flying SYD-LAX-JFK, then JFK-LAX-SYD.

VA1 in J, then DL metal for the remaining three flights.

Does anybody have advice about seat selection in the DL flights?

LAX-JFK is in an A330. So is the return. LAX-SYD is obviously a B777 (I presume 772?).

I know I want a window sear, not a seat between the aisles. Where it gets complicated is whether, in a window seat, I want to be right next to the window or right next to the aisle (I think all the seats are staggered).

Any opinions, advice, hints? Or tips with Delta One in general?

All advice is much appreciated.

Kind regards,

SBD

Thank you very much, especially useful part explaining the odd-numbered seats being against the window.

Have you flown it?

Kind regards,

SBD

I've flown Delta one LAX-JFK on the 757 only. Looks like the seats are quiet different to the A330. This was about 18 months ago, and the memory is a bit hazy. I think we might have had an aircraft change from A330.

My main advice is don't take the overnight flight as I did. This turned out to be a mistake as the flight time just isn't long enough to sleep. Otherwise, sorry can't help with seats.

Thanks, Vic.

Yeah I believe Delta One on the 767 (presumably 757 too) was not beloved by passengers. One of my flights has been switched from 767 to A330 (another was already an A330, then the 777 back to Sydney).

Day flights— should be good.

I’ve flown Perth-Sydney in VA J departing after midnight arriving at 6am. Slept well but felt like asking who had stolen my night.

Kind regards,

SBD

The seat itself was ok. I did "lay flat" to try to sleep. but arrived wrecked.
The a330 seat does look much better.
