Have been jetting around on Delta these past few weeks. Newark (EWR) Terminal B, nice little lounge with a serviced bar. Miller Lite, Stoli Vodka & Jack Daniels at no extra charge other than the obligatory (?) $1 tip (My tip: order a shot-and-a-beer and save yourself a buck). Chicken salad and veges-drowned-in-dressing are quite nice. Uncrowded.

Atlanta (ATA) has a couple of lounges. Both seem to get crowded, the larger one is probably the pick here.

Detroit (DTW) also has a few. The one near Gate A18 is a lovely little lounge with self-service (yay - I can tip myself!). The way I free pour I sure as hell deserve it. Closed at 9 am though and they shuffled us off to the lounge at Gate A40. Now this is where is all goes wrong. Gate demon flat out refused to admit me. "Sir, you have no complimentary access." "But I'm a VA WP with an onward Delta flight?". "No access sir". Demon advised me that VA WPs have no access to any Delta lounges at all and EWR, ATA & G18 DTW were incorrect in admitting me! It was 15 mins to my flight so I merely waved my hand in the air and didn't assert my 'rights', but I certainly followed it up with VA who confirmed I should have been admitted. The cold hard hand of rejection, ah well, it will do me some good maybe. Actually thinking on it I'm Alta Sky Freckle Diamonte and Hola! Aviango Gringo el-Diamonde as well, dang it.

All-in-all it makes you appreciate what we have in AU, though, free-pour spirits at DTW aside we have it much better.
