Delta lounge access

Another question here about Delta lounge entry at LAX.. The conditions state lounge entry for same day travel on Delta (Velocity gold). I am looking at a flight that departs at 12.30am on the 26th. If I tried entering the night of the 25th (hours before my 12.30am flight) would I be denied?

Just an update for anyone interested in Delta lounge access and bag charges for VA gold..

I flew VA SYD-LAX and was travelling domestically on another itinerary with Delta the same day. I checked my bags through to my final destination with VA in Sydney and was not charged anything by Delta for bags. I was permitted Delta lounge access but the staff member did hesitate until confirming that I had been travelling internationally on VA. Priority security and boarding were also received due to VA gold.
