Hey guys,

I have 5 sectors coming up in Delta in a couple of weeks. Having never flown Delta before, I've managed to find out that I can use my Velocity Gold to gain access to the Delta lounges, but I'm still not sure if I should associate my Velocity Gold or Sky Miles Blue Platinum membership number against the flights to maximise the chances of an automatic upgrade.

Does anyone know for certain which ranks higher in the automatic upgrade priority list?

I would have sent Delta an email and asked them directly, but I can't find a customer service email address anywhere on their website!

I'd definately assoicate your Flying Blue number with your Delta reservations... just make sure they can see the status. You won't get any priority treatment with your Velocity Gold card; it simply enables you to enter the lounge for free if you don't have any SkyTeam status or want to pay the $50 entry fee.

I flew SYD-LAX, JFK-LAX-SYD with Delta a couple of weeks back and tried to use my newly matched Flying Blue Gold status but it hadn't come through to the DL system. Essentially if you don't have Sky Priority on your boarding pass you won't get any special treament or get on the upgrade list for domestic fligths on DL. They did come through with preffered seat selection, extra baggage and priority tagging after I explained the situation and showed them the card print out. FWIW, I credited my points to Sky Miles as it's a much better earn rate for discount Y than Flying Blue even with the elite bonus.

Thanks mate, I've associated my FB Plat status, hopefully it will have come through as Plat on their system by the time I fly :)
