What do you mean "multiple stops"? What are you going?

The plan is:
Syd>LA>Seattle>San Franisco>LA(or San Diago)>Sydney

Hubby is current gold but will be WP if his missing sectors/points ever show up.

the worst thing I EVER did was introduce the husband to airport lounges and business class upgrades.......

You might change your tune once you've done F on A380, sipping Dom and nibbling on caviar :D

Im like, "Honey, remember that trip we took to Wagga and we stayed at a caravan park?".

Now he thinks a Club Room at the Marina Bay Sands/Singapore is "roughing it".

There wont be any problems earning status credits with VA. Just stick to VX and DL. If you have any doubt about what a flight will earn, just post it and someone will come along to confirm either way.

That's a bit harsh, IMO.

His exact words when I gave him hotel options were, "I dont mind roughing so book the Marina Bay Sands" and he said the same thing about the Shangrila in China last month.

In all seriousness, thanks for the advise. I learnt that the AirZN J flights I booked for the Bledisloe/August wont earn sectors so there might be a status run in his future/next year.

Oh, don't torment me.......I'll be surprised if Velocity don't ban me due to the fact "I've proved over the last 4 days that I'm too stupid to fly".....

and I'm so glad the hubby doesn't read these boards....he doesn't need to know whats behind "the curtain".......

Did you get this to eat?

Last year I flew DEN-SLC-LAX late afternoon. As I had caught the CME van from Vail to DEN at about 2pm I didn't have anything to eat. No DL lounge in DEN but I decided not to eat the junk in the terminal knowing that I would be in SLC in an hour. After arriving in the lounge this was pretty much the best choice of available food. I have no complaints about healthy snacks but I needed something more substantial so left the lounge and hit the pizza place on the concourse which was just what I needed. Nice lounge tho.

Thanks again for your responses but I have a sector question I hope you can answer.

I was planning on flying Syd>LAX but the 2.5hr window to arrive LAX and depart on our next flight is worrying me so Im thinking we will fly SYD>Melb>LAX as this flight arrives in LA 2hrs earlier.

My question is would this be considered as 2 sectors or 1 sector if issued on the same reservation? I screwed up our August bookings by booking AirNZ so Im looking for additional sectors for hubby and this might save him spending a sunday afternoon flying somewhere.

Many thanks for your time/answers.

If there are 2 different flight numbers, then it will be 2 sectors.

SYD-MEL-LAX will count as two eligible sectors, so long as they are booked with the VA code (and not, for example, with the DL code).

Delta lounges are generally about snacks and not much more.
