I suppose it's not news to a lot here:

One might be tempted to say QF should take notice, relying on Heathrow as it does for European connections.

I doubt not much will change in the near future, and I hardly thing QF will change it's routing to avoid LHR...there is a reason it's one of the busiest airports in the world! Funnily enough though I had a really easy run there a few weeks ago; was better than say, Rome.
