About five weeks ago I managed to nab a Classic Reward in PE flying NRT-FRA with JAL in June 2027. The booking is showing as Confirmed in the QF app but has still not ticketed. Fortunately I'm not bothered as in the meantime I've managed to get a different award flight to Europe with Finnair that suits me better, and ticketed within a couple of days, so I'm just waiting for this one to ticket so I can cancel it (it seems the cancel button is greyed out in my account until it tickets).
I'm curious as to whether this is a common issue with JAL awards booked through QF, or more of a random one-off. I would be pretty anxious by now if I was relying on having this flight fully confirmed and ticketed so that I could go ahead and make other travel arrangements around it, so would be good to know for future reference.
