A friend recently flew into Brisbane on EK. It was around 40 minutes after arriving at the gate that people were allowed to disembark. People in high vis vests came on board. There was no explanation for the delay. I do understand that this is a bit like asking "How long is a piece of string?" What sort of situation might this have been? I've been on airlines before where they've said that they need to attend to a passenger who is unwell, or that there's a problem with the air bridge. But there was no explanation offered at all.
