Hi team, a friend of mine is travelling DEL - KUL - SYD with MH. The friend would like to bring along extra luggage, which is fine until they saw the AUD585.50 fee for a 30KG bag to be brought along the flight with her.
Is there anyone who would know a reliable and more cost-efficient way to have 30KG worth of stuff sent across to Canberra (they live in Canberra)? I believe DHL quoted even more for this so not ideal.

Saw a couple of options ;

DHL Courier to Australia Cost | Free Pickups And Insurance - lists approx INR 31K, which is approx $600

You could also call DTDC Australia - DTDC Australia | Cheap Courier Massive Discount

Agree with SBF - have used unaccompanied baggage a few times. Between India and Australia it works out to roughly AU$ 3 - 4 per kg and probably some admin costs on top. Best to go via a C&F agent who is familiar with the procedure. I would recommend calling up MH cargo division in DEL - they will provide a list of C&F agents who they work with. The C&F agent in turn will suggest the cheapest options - most likely Thai or Cathay. Bag needs to be dropped off couple of days prior to outbound leg and should be delivered in about a week to 10 days post arrival in Oz (timelines and costs based on my pre-pandemic experiences)
