Cycled the Shimanami Kaido, and Yamaguchi, Saga, Nagasaki etc.

Gundam is owned by Bandai Namco now, which means...
One Piece!

Don't you just love ramen?!

Inside there was a pop up store as well.
Oooooh these are the Clothes on sale!

I brainstormed for like 10 mins, trying to figure out how to put a box inside my already full suitcase...🤣
And bought the Aquarius cloth...don't ask....it's a thing.

This is Camus now on my bookshelf

Wanted to do the most touristy thing ever in HK, go up to the Peak.
TBF I haven't done that in like 20 years.

There are buses from Central directly go up to the Peak.
The Peak Tram is way too much even though I was trying to be touristy😉

Not sure what was going on with the clouds that day...

The Peak Galleria is a large shopping centre dominating the Peak...above pics were taken from their free rooftop terrace.

Lots of restaurants inside, I had Hainanese chicken rice. Yum 😍

After dinner, it was getting dark and the free terrace was packed!
I was not about to fight all these people for a spot....not that I would win or something 🤣
You can pay HK$80 to go to the Sky Terrace on top of Peak Tower for a better view (and far fewer people).

Ah but as I was heading that way, saw a sign pointing to "Victoria Peak's Lions Pavillion", so I went over to check it out.

What a great find!

Back to Novotel, took me some good 10-15 mins to rearrange all my suitcase contents 🤣 Camus was safely put away!

Shuttle bus to HKG - if you've been there before, the buses are in a new location now, outside Terminal 2. I didn't even know there's a T2 in HKG!! Guess what, no flights departing here 😂

Anyways I went straight to The Pier.
OMG never seen so many people here... (not as much as SQ in SIN T3 though!)

Had to wait for the shower, luckily the tea house was next door
Cathay Delight and Pearl Jasmine.
PXL_20260421_134409505.jpg

Waited for about 25 mins iirc?
PXL_20260421_140459865.jpg

Didn't take many pics since it was so full...

Ended up sitting at the big table since all the booths were taken.
PXL_20260421_142933267.jpg

Then switched to the counter.

The Pier is still my favourite lounge.

CX105

Well this was the A350, can't get lucky every time! Not that there's anything wrong with CX's 350 J seats...

However departing HKG there are actually other options online (Cathay Signatures)!
I had the wok fried seafood in lobster broth, it was fantastic!
PXL_20260421_172031052.jpg

Skip the rest and went straight to sleep.
PXL_20260421_173917862.jpg

Woke up and already in AU.
On my way to HKG the western breakfast was not good, so I chose "healthy breakfast" this time.
Eww, do not recommend either!
I'm gonna try Chinese brekkie next time 😂

I read most TRs about Japan, some of which cover places I have been too, things I missed (normally due to timings and priorities) or places I have not gone too but would be interested in. I was ment to be to be heading back later this week then onwards to the UK/EU however we cancelled the trip late last week. Anyhow I have enjoyed this TR as I am in the planning stages to get back next year for the May Sumo circus in Tokyo with a mate. After that we will most likely go our seperate ways for a period of time and I was planning on heading to Kyushu as I have not been there.

I have flights to get there and now waiting to see what is released to get back.

Kyushu is lovely. Very touristy although mostly from Asian countires compared to Tokyo/Kyoto touristy - you will not see more Koreans anywhere else 😉
I'm a big onsen lover and Kyushu is great for that. Ureshino now that I've been is very high on my alltime list, together with Kurokawa. No.1 is still Kusatsu though.
And the food! 😍

One of the things I like about your TRs is you post pictures from inside the onsen. I only assume you either pre arrange this when it is not open or you take the pic after checking there is no one in there.

I also like onsen and whenever we travel as a family MrsN (MissN is almost 20) has gotten into the habit of asking if I am am booking us into 'those places'. Then goes onto say 'you know', the places where we have to eat what we are given and the 'nudie pools' ;) Over the years we have stayed in major chains, Ryokans and businessman hotels. At some point she will get it.

Generally when no one was around.
Easy to know as you can just look at the shoe rack or lockers.

Us males maybe less tidy, in the early days I used to say to MrsN pick an empty space. At times she used to come back and say they are all empty. Never been inside a female onsen or read what the rules are, I have only assumed they are similar to the male rules.

Obviously I've never been to a male onsen, but rules are exactly the same afaik...
