CX upgrades - multiple PAX in booking

I know that WPs have a pretty good success rate of getting free upgrades on CX - but what about when there are multiple people in the booking?

Say, 2 people - one WP and the other with no status.

Any experience?

But you must have been in separate bookings to begin with, if you were originally booked in different classes.
