When I checked in at the CX First counters at HKIA the other week it occured to me that they don't weigh your baggage - at least not while you're standing at the counter.

Does this mean that you can get away with excess baggage?

I realise not many pax have the "right" to checkin at the F counters, but still, (potentially) good news for those that do!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'd imagine you could get away with a little extra, though if you turned up with everything you've got they'd no doubt assume you'd be over the limit.

Maybe. But even though it's not weighed there, they would probably put on a WH&S weight tag somewhere and weigh it for load reasons for the plane. And you still have to make it from check-in to the lounge, and then to the plane without the special page or quiet word!...

Well I would suggest that it is.

Mrs WF (AA PLT) on LONE4 HKG-SIN is entitled to 2 23kg bags -
separate Y ticket SIN-PER would be one 23 kg bag
I am on award ticket so suspect one 23 kg bag HKG-SIN-PER

They took all three bags but did ask which bags went with whose ticket.

The guitar case (carry on) was not questioned.

Aside:
Boarding in SIN has a line labeled Business/Elite.
GA specifically called BUSINESS ONLY before starting with the kids and then boarding by rows. I was not the only unhappy person in that line.

Is it worth asking QF Customer Service what gives/gave?

Fred
