CX config HKG-SYD and expert flyer question

Hi all
In case my potential secondment to the UK doesnt happen I am just planning my SHanghai visit using a DAS13. My route would be a simple syd-pvg-hkg-syd. I would spend a day in the office at the end of the trip after 4 days in PVG. All good so far. In order to maximise my time in PVG I am getting an evening flight PVG-HKG - but that presents me with a late flight HKG-SYD the next day.

Checking expert flyer my options are limited to CX on CX101 with the following info:

CX 101

HKG 22/02/08 11:55 PM
SYD 23/02/08 12:10 PM

330 J9 C9 D9 I6 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0

That indicates a regional A330 config but checking the seat map shows a 1-1-1 config. Would I expect this to in fact be the new config or a regional jet?

Any thoughts?

I suspect it is the new config. There are only 3 different configs in that particular plane.

3 class
2 class
2 class (new seats).

I don't think SYD ever gets the regional config planes, but not 100% sure.

My concern is that it is showing as a 330 rather than 333...

The 333 designator is only used for 3 class 330's by Cathay.

The real issue is that Cathay can change their config at any time after booking, so regardless of whether it's showing as a new config 330 now, it could end up being regional if operating requirements came into play.

I believe they're supposed to show the new config 2 class 300's as 33B, but online they don't seem to.

Thanks for that - I appreciate it could be regional if something goes U/S but good to know that they are using the two class.
