Hi guys- quick question. I am flying to London this week. I fly out of Brisbane domestic and connect in Sydney where the international flight leaves 2 hours later. I arrive in Syd at domestic then depart from international (obviously). My question is when do i go through customs? There doesn't seem like much time in Sydney with getting off plane and getting to seperate terminal. Any help appreciated.Cheers

You would go through Immigration in Sydney. 2 hours is plenty of time to get from Domestic terminal to International and through security and immigration, this assuming the domestic flight is on time.

Thanks so much. Puts my mind at ease. I assume I will check in baggage in Bris and not see it again till London?

Yes. Baggage will be checked through assuming the airlines you are flying have interlining agreements in place.

I've done 2 hour connections in SYD many times, it doesn't give you much stuff around time (at least not before customs / security at T1), but it is certainly more than long enough.

Are you flying QF? The following advice is based on flying QF.

At BNE Domestic terminal don't bother with the kiosks as while they might issue the bag tag to LHR it won't issue the boarding passes so you'd need to see a person anyway to get those.

They will check your baggage all the way through to LHR and issue both boarding passes and get your green departure card which you can fill out while you're on the BNE/SYD flight so it's one less thing for you to do in SYD.

The only thing you do on arrival at SYD T3 is get off the BNE flight and proceed direct to gate 15 where the shuttle bus to the international terminal departs from. They will scan your SYD/LHR boarding pass prior to you getting on the bus so keep it handy.

You should also get your green departure card which you can fill out while you're on the BNE/SYD flight so it's one less thing for you to do in SYD.

The journey time on the bus is about 5 mins so all you need to do is get off the bus, go up the escalators and head through customs to your boarding gate. You don't need to checkin again.
