Amex are traditionally approved faster and easier than other CC providers- they seem very keen to provide credit!!

A quick post of thanks as my wife applied (and was approved) for her card through your link. Applied on Saturday and she received the approval today - it's her first card as she has been supplementary on my cards. 80,000 points is too good to refuse.

So, the AMEX website has just been updated to show that applying through this card using a referral will get you 110,000 bonus points now (up from 80,000).

The only other change is that the required spend to be given the bonus points is now $1,000 in 3 months, which I think is still very realistic!

Remember, the bonus points post for existing card holders, despite what the T&Cs say (first hand experience just last month with this same card)

You must be hitting the limit by now smit? Or, like the exclusion for previous card holders, you are still getting the bonus points above the stated cap?

No, haven't hit the limit yet. I don't think everyone who said they used actually did (or they may not have all been approved etc)

A great promotion has become a greater promotion. Overnight it's now increased to 110,000 points.

Please make sure you read the T&C's before applying. Having said that, there is evidence to the contrary in a couple of threads on this forum.

I already have the AMEX Red Velocity which I declared on the application, and was still approved really quickly. They said that they had taken into account the credit limit on the Red and so gave me a limit of $15,000. Looking at the link it seems that most people got the bonus points.

be sure to use the 110K points link.

Do you get instant approval?

I wonder if you don't get approved straight away, and they want other evidence of income et el, whether you can then negotiate (rescind the application) if they confirm at this stage that you don't qualify for the bonus points?

Maybe the points only post once the person makes the minimum spend? I've done that and my bonus points have posted, so happy to follow up if you've not received them?
