I applied for this card on a Monday and it was delivered to my house Wednesday, that's unbelievable. Amex must be desperate to get this one out there. Speaking of Amex, I'm continually asked to sign taxi dockets when using my corporate Amex and occasionally get text messages from them saying "we noticed you signed a docket, can you please stop doing that?". No, I can't - because the cab driver's machine insists upon it. Same on a recent UK trip - signing everything to the apparent surprise of many merchants, despite the fact I've got a PIN. I've got quite a nice signature, actually.

I may use the smit referral toward the end July to let my cancelling of a few cards recently 'take'. Although, that won't show on my credit score, I can at least claim I only have x $ credit cards. I did post a random referral in another post, but I have no idea where I actually copied that from - just saw the headline 80k points, yay.

AMEX Velocity Platinum - 80,000 bonus points (confirmed for existing card holder)

Hi all,

There seem to be a few of these referral links having been posted recently, but I thought it would be bad form to post my link on somebody else's thread! By using my referral you get an extra 30,000 points over the normal application (80,000 total) and I get 20,000 points as well - so we both win

I recently applied for this card through a referral (on this forum) as a current Amex platinum edge card holder; I declared that I was a holder and entered my platinum edge card number during the application process. I can confirm that the bonus 80,000 points have posted, so this definitely works if a pre-existing amex customer! I've also posted my results regarding this in the Amex forum

Some highlights of this card:
- 80,000 velocity points upon spending $500 within the first 3 months
