Hmmmm.... Im sorry to hear that. I would wait another couple of days and then perhaps call them to ask about your application. I wouldn't give up hope yet!

Obviously this thread title and original post no longer reflects the current offer that increased on July 1st. I asked the Mods if they could update this to reflect the changed offer but they said I should start a new referral thread instead so I have here - http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ty-amex-110-000-points-69172.html#post1273103

As there was also a lot of questions that have been asked and answered in this thread as well as critical information about existing card holder experiences, I have expanded the original post in the new thread to be a complete summary of the offer and everything that has happened over the past few weeks so people don't have to wade through this thread. I'll keep checking both friends if anyone has anymore questions.

So, the AMEX website has just been updated to show that applying through this card using a referral will get you 110,000 bonus points now (up from 80,000).

The only other change is that the required spend to be given the bonus points is now $1,000 in 3 months, which I think is still very realistic!

Remember, the bonus points post for existing card holders, despite what the T&Cs say (first hand experience just last month with this same card)

I would like to apply in my own right for a card using her link...can you advise how that link comes through for her ? I have filled in referral details on her on-line amex account. Amex say they send link by email 'in a few days'. Is this correct and is this how others received their's... thanks for original offer...

when you filled in the refer a friend link on her account it should have automatically created a link for you to use. Try again if it didnt (click share on facebook and click the link)

I had 80,000 points post after my $500 spend. I have since hit over $2000 spend and nothing more.

Just rang Amex, who asked me if I had the original link used. While I was searching for it , the guy on the phone read a note on the system which said that 174 applications had had the incorrect points posted. Amex have recognized the error and all he had to do was notify his supervisor and my missing points would be posted. Happy Days

no. My point is, I got 80,000 when I hit $500 spend. It was supposed to be 110,000 at $1000 (so I am now well over that)

I applied like 4 weeks ago when the 80k promotion was still on. I wonder if I can somehow get the 110000pt promotion considering I just got approved. Wonder if I can pretend to be one of the people who had points posted incorrectly and supply a new referral link for 110,000
