There is a TR from an American who cruised on the 8th March Ruby Princess cruise that has created havoc in Australia and sadly a death. When they started their Report yesterday I asked if they knew the issues with Covid on their cruise. They didnt reply (time zones) but next time I checked my post had been deleted.

Today they posted they received an email from NSW Department of Health and they deleted it without reading as they didnt know the source. another Aussie and I both posted that everyone on that cruise needs to self isolate and get themselves checked. Within the hour - both warning posts were deleted.

Not getting political - dont like Trump dont like Biden. But what the heck is this denial all about?

Wow that not only is poor form but dangerous too. Those idiots could be infecting thousands more.
If one of the posters comes from California email their Attorney general-the office is very helpful and I'm sure they would follow it up.

And I used to get upset at CC as they would delete my cruise reports because I would put in a link to my AFF TR.

Got to wonder what the cover up is about - and who is obsessed enough to monitor and report whatever they're reporting. I can't see that it violates any of the posting terms.

CC is just a proxy advertising facility for the big cruise lines.
There is a large group populating most of the cruise line boards that seek to keep it all positive and deflect anything negative.
When that fails the moderators delete .
I follow the Silversea board, it's generally cheerful and supportive, but the occasional criticisms/disagreements are dealt with as above
Places like cruise law News on Fb try to keep the b's honest but it's a losing battle...

An update. I had posted all this in the Aussie part of CC which isn't heavily moderated nor censored. One of the US passengers who had been on this cruise went looking for "me". Their post had been deleted too as it had asked "the question about the Email". They said they arrived to NY after a few errors in their flight that took them the long way home. They slept then were contacted by a friend who had heard about Ruby Princess and asked them to check things out. Husband by now had developed a fever. They attended the clinic in NY but they were refused a test because they did not meet the "criteria" and they didn't have enough tests any way. They returned home and self isolated anyway. She is now rather angry they were refused a test.

Interesting @tgh there were no disagreements about what I'd written as it showed concern that they needed to be aware of possibilities and protect themselves and families. The first post lasted maybe 12 hours and the second one was gone in 60 seconds. I guess if the TR doesn't get finished then maybe there has been an outcome.

Aussies are still making relevant comments on that TR in the hope that relevant people read it and act appropriately.

Interesting that a couple of posters stated that they didnt want to get politcal, but did anyway. Neither Trump nor Biden have anything to do with cruise companies.

No but there is frustration with the whole testing process and lack of testing for very obvious cases. Another person died from Ruby today.

Sure - but that's our testing process. As our Premier in WA has stated several times over the past few days, and like other States we copped 11 of the passengers from that vessel, the way that ship was handled in Sydney was disgraceful.

Sorry, should have clarified. Was referring to US testing. Or lack of it. I think as a whole we've done well in Australia - except for letting the cruise passengers off.

Agreed we're doing well in terms of testing. But very poorly in terms of enforcement. Our leadership hasn't wanted to be tough at all. When asked about reporting non-compliance, journalists were just told to tell the mate to 'do the right thing' as if that always works. And what if it isn't your mate?

And checking and monitoring has been weak at best. Hence, when they did some today found a bunch of people had given fake addresses - nobody bothered to validate beforehand. Hopeless really.

Yeah, the lack of addresses required on the ID required was commented before but other said they didn't even have an ID with an address on it and others didnt take their DL on cruises so it was kind of dismissed. If people here think like that well, 🤷‍♀️

We had 2 US people in the Barossa in a group of 18, 10 of whom were positive. They were put into lockdown but not policed and passport is not taken. Two escaped. They are positive. We can only hope they flew back to good ole US to that hot mess

Have you thought of contacting the CC moderators directly to ask them why the posts are being deleted?

There's an advisory notice on the Princess website about covid19 onboard the Ruby Princess, so surely they would at least believe that?

One of the NY cruisers has stated that the Mods said that their posts referring to Covid were taking the TR off topic! FFS. That is Brandee who is in NY. Her husband is still having a fever five days later and still not able to get him tested. People have died after taking this cruise and they are worried about people warning others of a huge risk to their health and that of the community?

I've also received a CC warning for posting "on a River in Egypt". That is a badge of honour methinks.

In the end of January when the first case was detected in melbourne, Then the Government should have closed all the airports instead they waited to close entire australia in end of March.
It shows no one was serious about protecting Australia.
