I'm now at my 20 weeks today! 20 weeks was what I was told at my interview. Not going to hold my breath waiting though..

No Katejenno I haven't, I may today to and will let you know what the reply is. I'm not panicking yet as we don't want to leave until May but just would like it over and done with. Last time it took only 6-8 weeks oh well!

OK so I sent an email and got an answer this morning. The answer basically said that my case had been escalated and that the processing is over 5 months now. It also told me I could enquire again after the 15th of January 2013. That will be six months after my interview.

Yikes! Can't believe it! Yet "celebrities" are allowed in with no problem and don't seem to have to go through such a waiting period!

My record was from 8 years a go. However I got a Visa 18months ago and it only took 8 weeks. at my Interview the girl said basically as long as nothing has changed since the last time I got one I should have no problems this time.

Hi we are now at 23 weeks I sent an email last week to be told that they still haven't heard anything but current waiting times may have an answer at the beginning if January. Today we received an email saying please send $25 your visa has been approved and this is the issuance fee.

Very excited we are not going to have to post pone our trip a second time.

I hope its not too much longer for the rest of you................. good luck!

Congrats, they must be having a drive to push as many through before Christmas. We sent our $25 off which we believe is for a 5 year visa my husband asked for. So glad don't want to have to go through this again in a hurry.

Good luck everyone with your application.

Yep got mine in the mail today. Nice 12 month Visa attached. It is exactly 23 weeks today since my interview.

Honeymoon here we come!!!!

Hi All. Just a quick story. My husband has a very minor ($50 fine) cannibas charge from 28 years ago. He is now a Security Officer with AFP Airside (tarmac) clearance. He had his visa interveiw in Perth on Aug 23, 2012. So we are currently just over 20 weeks. We emailed in November to be told it had been escalated and the wait is now six months. Due to bad travel agent advice (Grrr - but our responsibility none the less) we are booked to travel March 31. Planning on taking ou kids to Legoland, Disneyland, Grand Canyon etc - clearly not a threat!! So although he is now a very changed person we understand its their country their rules. We wont however be seeing a possible Visa Denial as a slight on his charatcter, more as a loss of common sense and logic in this whole process. Wish us luck!!

This is my first post so hope I am doing this right. We are at 24 weeks today and still no passport with Visa. My husband had a similar charge to yours Kasster, but only 7 years ago. His interview was Aug 01, 2012 in Melbourne. He was told around 20 weeks. I have not chased it up but I am going to email tonight. We were planning to go last November but that was canned:( No tickets had been booked. We are now travelling in June - (but not to the USA) so I want the passport back. I agree with you re seeing a possible Visa Denial as a slight on his character........Good luck.

One would have thought with all the economic problems in the US that they would like visitors from a country with a strong currency.

Sadly not. Good luck to all.

Good news for us. I emailed US Consulate on Thursday night and received a reply Friday afternoon. The email informed me that my husbands visa had been approved and is in the final stages of processing. I will receive an email with the tracking number early this week, once the passport is dispatched. Could not believe it. So excited. We have now told the kids we are off to Disneyland. Just have to check for cheap fares around the September school holidays, which are hard to come by. It has been an experience, waiting and waiting. After no holiday in 2 years we are lucky to be having 2 this year. I would be interested in hearing back from anyone re customs process in USA. I have read on this thread that you maybe singled out if you have visa issued? Any feedback re this would be great.

Perhaps you are thinking Disney World in Florida, rather than Disneyland in California...

Pete, who "did" them both in one crowded day.

You will be right Kazzster but it is just the waiting. I was getting so disheartened that's why I booked another holiday. I was thinking if the USA don't want my money I will go somewhere else. Now the visa is here I cannot believe how excited I am to know we can go. It is strange the change in emotions. Your husband went for his interview 22 days after mine so it wont be too long now:)...

Thank you. Not sure if going to Florida or LA. I am lucky that I have been to Kennedy Space Centre before, in another life. Pre husband and children. Loved it but it was a long time ago.
