I was a bit anxious flying out 27/10 on the 380 syd-Dfw, thought this bird was just a tad too big for me, similar to my own body weight.

My first nice surprise was we boarded through the door that leads into top floor, no climbing stairs which I always seem to turn into an awkward experience.

The reason for my post is to say what an absolutely great crew we had, they came around often asking if there was anything you needed, the toilets were kept the cleanest during trip I've experienced thus far, were warm & friendly w/out being intrusive. I managed to hook up the cord on 'remote' (can't think of correct term), crew fetched a fork, no problem or attitude & got it out of hold section for me.

i like to take chokkies, I do it for my own reasons & don't want anything in return. The nice csm (?) seemed to think it was pretty special & prior to landing presented me with model 380 signed by the crew & pilots signed the wings. I am self funded flyer & have had serious discussions with myself, this trip will be my last for awhile or at least in the pointy end, so the small gift is even more special.

i hope the crew are on my return, just made the flight great. I'm not a fan of flying, necessarily, & having such nice crew made this flight more bearable.

(sorry, didn't know where to put this)

That's such a lovely gesture! I collect model airplanes and would go nuts if I were gifted that LOL :D

Glad to read your first A380 flight was a memorable (for all the right reasons!) experience.

Good to read such a positive experience.
I'm glad you enjoyed the long flight and I do hope you will get to experience more memorable trips at the pointy end :)

Terrific story. Congrats to you (and thanks for sharing) and to the crew for their service and the lovely gesture.

i had a terrific crew in first the other day, London to Dubai. It really makes a flight worthwhile.

I must one day try this magic thing called the 380. EK and not QF, but still... must try this.
Have done the Dash 8, Bae 146, 320, 737, 717, 340, 330...

Am really looking forward to flying on aa's 77w Thursday night Dfw-Lhr, have window seat, pics & r/views look great.

Good to hear a positive story amongst all the negative stories recently.
