Hi I am going overseas soon. and previously every time i have been overeas i took Cash with me and changed the cash to the currency required at money changers, either in hongkong, israel or otehr places.

i have just received the wizard clear advantage mastercard.

since there are no fees or charges

question is would it be better to top up the cash in the master card?

or

still use the cash and change it into the local currency via money changers?

I guess it all depends on where you are going.

Personally I prefer to take cash with me and will use the Wizard Clear Advantage Mastercard for emergency or in countries where the currency exchange booths are not favourable.

I tend to use the Wizard card, but I am going to places where ATMs are easy to find.

I always take some emergency cash with me in case I loose the card or have probs using it.

I do try to pay for as much as I can on my credit card, so cash is usually not a big issue for me - then again I'm usually in asia where $20 will last the day - lunch, massage, beers, dinner
