I'm pretty sure you still need to do a PCR in order to come from overseas to Australia with 72 hours of your flight, however you don't need to do a PCR on arrival, only a RAT within 24 hours.

Right now, it doesn't have to be a PCR. A RAT is acceptable.

That is correct for the Australian Govt. However, I believe that Qantas, Jetstar, etc. still require a PCR. Is this correct?

Fed Gov announce that pdt for inbound flights will not be required from 18 Apr.

However unsure if Flight departures on 17 Apr and lands on 18. Thats me.

All International passenger arrivals must:

• travel directly from the airport to their home or accommodation
• self-isolate until they receive a negative result from a COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken within the first 24 hours of arrival
• not visit high risk settings (aged care, disability care, healthcare, and correctional facilities) for at least 7 days after arrival unless they are seeking personal care, or are a resident of a facility. See Part 4 for further information.

Does anyone know if that has to be an administered test or while a self test suffice?

What is getting all the more concerning is when I look at the 'date last updated' on various country Covid entry requirement websites and airline websites dvising what is required.

For once, the inbound Australian page is very up todate, last updated May 12, 2022.

Equally challenging are the range if descriptions of the required test methods etc across different countries.
