Hi everyone,
I have been searching the site but I can't seem to find the answer to 2 questions:
1. If an award flight is available when searching from port A to B will QANTAS sell you a connecting flight to port A on the same PNR if you contact the call centre?
2. If you can see an itinerary on multi city search I.e. A to B then a flight B to C with an appropriate connection will the call centre allow you to combine it so you only need the required points of A to C or do you need to use the points for 2 awards?

Apologies if those questions are too confusing...

I'm fairly certain that if you book it yourself online you can combine an award outbound with a paid ticket inbound or vv however the more restrictive fare conditions (ie paid fare) apply to both flights when on the same ticket.

If you do it over the phone they won't combine it as was the case when we were going to request release of U class award seats (as a WP) BNE/SYD/HNL and combine with a paid fare HNL/SYD/BNE for AUD479.00.

If we purchased a one way fare HNL/SYD/BNE it would've been USD1,379.00 so we didn't bother requesting an award seat outbound and just purchased the cheapest non upgradeable whY fare BNE/SYD/HNL/SYD/BNE for AUD879.00.
