Convincing Family Members to Transfer Points

Uhh certainly sounds like "granny doesn't need that money in her bank, I'll take it and buy myself something pretty because she'll just waste it on catfood".

I don't steal people's points. Especially my families.

Depends if you paid for the flights/points.

If you don't fully fund the point making activity - the points aren't yours.

Have you ever tried to educate someone about putting points to the best use who are not already AFF (or related travel group) members? It's pretty much impossible, since the second you put any sort of restriction on it (eg specific classes / flights / routing which get the best value) they throw their hands up in the air and say it's all too hard...

Prob is that when you show ppl the photos of you enjoying the fruits of your labour (aka the photo sitting upper deck in a skybed with drink in hand) they simply say "lucky prick" rather than learn how you turned a very small amount of points into international J...

My MIL is terrible for this. I recently let her know that she had enough points for a J trip to the USA on VA, she got excited for a week and then ended up burning them on domestic Y redemptions :$
